We will pick up at your hotel in Cofresi or Playa Dorada for a tour of the vibrant, colonial city of Puerto Plata which is full of local life and characters to match!

Visit The Malecon, or seafront road which will lead you into the middle of the city to the Fortaleza San Felipe, built during the 16th century to protect Puerto Plata, then later became a prison.
Your next stop is The Amber Museum, located in an outstanding example of Victorian architecture, the museum houses a unique collection of valuable Dominican amber. Experts say Dominican amber is known to be the most transparent in the world.
Time is allowed to visit the many shops in Parque Central where you can barter and haggle for local crafts and souvenir items.
Next, you will take the Cable Car to visit the mountain Isabel de Torres which towers over the city with its peak at an altitude of 2,555 feet (779 m) above sea level, giving visitors a breathtaking view of the city laid out below.
Here you can also enjoy a beautifully landscaped botanical garden with 215 different plants and flowers of the country.
At he top of Isabel de Torres mountain you will also be ablo to admire a copy of the famous statue in Rio de Janeiro of Jesus Christ the Redeemer.
