Pay a visit to San Pedro de Macoris, a historical provincial coastal city which was once famous for being at the heart of the country’s sugarcane industry and for having a bustling cosmopolitan port and influx of migrant workers from other islands. Nowadays San Pedro is known for its renowned university, as well as being the birthplace of many talented players in the Major Leagues.
Our tour includes a visit the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle, a San Pedro de Macoris landmark. Also a visit of the traditional cigar factory, Macorix Cigars & Co. Sightseeing through the city, its Central Park and the picturesque surroundings of the Old Town and Malecón. We pass by a sugar mill, a baseball field, two must-see Dominican attractions.
Finish your cultural day by visiting the historic Ron Barceló Center and falling madly in love with the quality of this excellent Dominican rum.
