We invite you to explore the wonders of The Haitises National Park, located on the remote northeast coast of the Dominican Republic. This protected area has something to offer to everyone: an amazing boat ride through it’s breathtaking mangroves, a relaxing walk through it’s caves complete with Taino art for the history and culture lovers, and a chance to cool off in beautiful waterfalls.
You will be picked up in the morning at the appointed time of the reception of your hotel and then take a bus pass in the hills of the region, "Hato Mayor".
During the trip, you can see how the Dominicans live in small towns and can admire the diversity of the flora along the road. It goes past the orange and tangerine groves, through narrow streets through which up to 1200 meters high with palm trees, bananas, coffee and cocoa-covered hills to a poor Dominican family.
Here you can get an idea how the locals live and have way more beautiful views over the mountains to the Bay of Samana.
Then it goes on, the National Park "Los Haitises".
Your will board a motor boat and pass through the mangrove forests. You will see countless small rocky islands inhabited only by bird.
You will enter a 2000 year old cave with original paintings of the "Tainos", the indigenous people of the Dominican Republic.
In the National Park you can also admire its unique flora and fauna before heading back to the bus.
Lunch (fish, chicken, rice, french fries, salad, etc.) is also included for you.
During the return trip you will visit a small ranch, where you can take a look at how cocoa, coffee, bananas, mangos and papayas are grown before being brought back to your hotel.
